General Questions
Do you deliver every image you shoot
No, I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. I might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure I have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment.
Do you provide partial day coverage?
I typically do not provide partial day coverage on weekends. On weekends, I only accept clients that require at least 5 hours of coverage or have a budget of $1,500.00 and above.
What Photography Style do you Indentify with?
Making photos at your wedding requires me to be excellent at several styles of wedding photography. In a typical wedding day there will be times where I would need to work in a contemporary style, other times I will need to work in a photojournalism style, and sometime in a Fashion/Glamor style (If in the right setup). We are a combination of documentary photography and contemporary portraiture with a hint of Fashion blended into pictures.
Do you have experience in shooting any light conditions?
Yes, I am very comfortable working in all types of lighting conditions. I can use available light, or I have plenty of lights to create my own lighting.
How Many photographers/Videographers you work with?
Most of the time we are a team of two professional photographers. However, if your wedding needs additional photographers (like if you have more than 200 guests and/or a really big wedding party), we know many great wedding photographers/videographers to invite. Then the wolf pack would grow by two.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, as your professional photographer, I will retain copyright of all your wedding image.
What is the difference between advanced and custom; and why are there additional costs for a custom retouch?
Advanced post-production includes touch-ups such as removal of blemishes, removal of bags under eyes, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. On the other hand, custom post production is anything that requires extensive, custom work in Photoshop such as removing entire objects from the scene, changing the size and shape of body parts or other objects in the scene, adding objects to a scene and other custom work. I charge hourly for the custom post-production as the time required ranges depending on the complexity of the project. Please contact Dash for a quote for custom post-production.
How do I reserve you for my date?
All dates are reserved once we receive your signed contract and deposit.
How long does it take to get my prints?
Product creation times vary, however, print orders will generally be completed within 4 weeks after the product order is submitted. Similar to the post-production process, if you require rush processing, a fee of $250.00 will be charged. Additional fees for rush shipping may also apply.

Unfortunately no. Retainer fees are used to reserve your date. Once I’ve reserved your date, I do not accept new clients for your date.
If we change our wedding to a different date, will we be able to use our retainer fee towards a future date?
Generally no, but this is taken on a case by case basis. The reason for canceling and my availability is taken into account. Also, if rates change from your original date to your new date, the new rates will apply.
Do you always shoot with a second photographer?
It depends. Small intimate weddings and elopements I usually photograph alone. If you are having a larger wedding or have multiple locations, I recommend having a second photographer. My second shooters are always professional photographers and all images are edited by me.
How many photos will we receive + how and when will we receive the images?
A lot! The number of photos varies from wedding to wedding and depends how many hours I'm shooting/ if I have a second photographer. Typically I deliver anywhere from 50-100 per hour. I will send a preview within a few days of your wedding/session. You will receive your final images in an online gallery personalized for you 4-6 weeks after your wedding date and 2-3 weeks for portrait sessions. The gallery allows you to easily download, print, and share your photos with all your friends and family.
What is the cost?
It depends. I would need to know some details before I can proceed with a pricing quote. I have wedding packages starting from $1000 to $15000. It all depends on What and How you need your memories to be made and captured!
Why Should we hire you as our photographer?
When searching for a photographer, there are several factors to consider: 1)Do you like their images and style, and what specifically do you like about their photos? 2)Do you like what they offer as part of their packages/collections? 3)Have you heard good things about them from a referral source or through reviews? 4) How does their pricing work in your budget? Portrait Photography Questions
Why do you offer a free consultation?
The consultation is a perfect time to get to know one another and discuss ideas. It provides both you and me with important information that will help prepare us for a successful photo shoot. This is also the best opportunity to take care of important paperwork including our photography contract in the event you decide to book a photo shoot. At the end of the consultation you can choose to book your session. If you are unable to meet in person for the consultation a phone conversation is usually sufficient.
Where do photo shoots take place?
I am completely mobile which means that I come to you! I am able to photograph in private residences as well as parks or public spaces. My best advice is to choose a location significant to you in order to create special images that will have lasting meaning. If the photo shoot is a family portrait and includes children it is important to choose a location where everyone will be comfortable. I strive to capture a mix of formal portraits and candid moments so the location of the shoot is very important. Please keep in mind that the lighting for outdoor shots can be very specific so I may recommend times that work with your schedule that will provide optimal results. If you don’t have a location in mind we can discuss options during your free consultation.
How long does the portrait session last?
A typical child, engagement, or family session can go from 1 to 2 hours.
What should we bring to the session?
If we are going to be away from your home, please bring along a few favorite toys for the kids, snacks, drinks, wipes, and blankets, or any other props you would like to use.
What is the best time to shoot?
If we are photographing outdoors, the best time is just after sunrise and just before sunset. I realize this is not always possible. The light at that time of day is generally very flattering and warm. I recommend scheduling the session for early to mid-morning or late afternoon into the evening and dusk. If we need to schedule for midday outdoor, keep in mind it can get very warm and that I would prefer shade.
Can I change my outfit?
In a two-hour photo shoot it is easy to accommodate outfit changes and this helps give your final images variety so please feel free to bring multiple clothing options. It is best to bring your clothing in garment bags to avoid wrinkling. Please leave bags and purses in your car so you are not bogged down with carrying these items and constantly finding places to set them down. We will take a break to allow for a change of clothing.
What about makeup?
When applying your makeup please avoid shimmering eye shadows and shiny foundations—it is best to keep your makeup matte. It is also best to avoid makeup with sunscreen in it as it can cause shiny patches on your face. I do not provide makeup services so it is up to you whether or not you want to hire a makeup professional or do your own makeup for the photo shoot.
What about props?
Props such as picnic baskets and baseball bats can be extremely helpful in telling your specific story. I have a wide selection of props that can be used during your photo session or you can bring your own. I highly recommend that you schedule your free consultation in order to discuss your ideas and work out the details.
Do you touch up photos?
In addition to color, saturation and contrast enhancements I do remove skin blemishes and things within the image that can be distracting. I do not, however, over manipulate images and I work hard to keep them true to life. That is, unless we are intentionally aiming for a processed look because you have requested that during the consultation.
Maternity Photography Questions
What’s the best time to book a maternity session?
It is generally suggested that between 27 and 35 weeks is the best time to showcase your belly. Maternity shoots can be done at any Studio but I prefer an outdoor setting. Please plan ahead and book your shoot to fall within in this timeframe.
Can I book multiple photo shoots throughout my pregnancy?
Yes. I offer a Full Term package that is designed to capture the different stages of your pregnancy. It includes four different sessions: one during each trimester and one after the baby is born. Each session will result in 20-30 additional images that chronicle your pregnancy. The Full Term package costs $600 which is equivalent to 4 photo shoots for the price of 3.
Can I bring my significant other to the shoot and can they be in some of the pictures?
Absolutely! My maternity portrait sessions are designed to highlight mom but I love it when dad gets involved too!
I’m not comfortable showing a lot of skin, is that a problem?
Definitely not! I will customize your photo shoot in any way you want and if this doesn’t include showing your belly that is totally fine. As a co-ed photography duo we will always act in a professional and respectful manner and we will never ask you to do anything you are not comfortable doing. For some inspiration on what to wear feel free to check out some Maternity Fashion Ideas board on Pinterest.
Should I bring anything (i.e. props)?
Sure! Feel free to bring things that you would like included in the session. Most families typically bring teddy bears, clothing for baby and the ultrasound.
